College Fellowship

Hey friends,

so… the final word is: sunday - after church, instead of lunch, for
those who’d like to join us, we’ll be heading out to the park and
offering a hot dog/hamburger and the Word of life to the lost

Final details: Sunday, 12:30 pm at Lindley Meadow in golden gate park.
This is close to where Kennedy Dr. intersects Transverse Dr.

Directions: from church, go into the Park from the 25th and Fulton
entrance, hang a right @ Transverse Dr. to get off of Crossover Dr,
and then take a right at Kennedy and start looking for a parking spot.

Parks & Rec said we can set ourselves up on the field close to the
main path. So here’s a request: does anyone else have a grill (or 2..)
that you wouldn’t mind us borrowing? Let me know.

If you would like to help, let us know, these are our current needs:

1. people to help Mike/Monica w/making signage, table adornments (i.e.
balloons or streamers or what not) and attention grabber things
(i.e… whether it be handheld boards or “wearable” sandwich boards -
like what people would use for carwash fundraisers).

2. some more BBQ grills would be nice - I don’t mean to guilt trip
you, or to get up in your grill, but this is an opportunity to put
your grills to use for the glory of God

3. people to help cook/serve food

4. folks to hang out w/the people that come and help dispense gospel handouts

Who else is still in town? Feel free to forward this to any of the
folks in our group that I missed

I suppose this may be the last fellowship night for the “summer” as most of the away-folks will be going back to school next week.

This thursday, we’ll be putting a bookend on our study on the ‘image of God’ from col 1:15. What is the culminating final finale of our being “renewed”, “sanctified”, and “transformed” …?

Gender-split thursday this week: what does the man of God look like? what characteristics define a godly woman? Come and find out

We’ll meet together as usual before going our separate, gender-specific ways

september is upon us, friends
summer fades with a sigh as does all this earthly life… ever more reason to align ourselves with the eternal God in prayer - and such a joy it is to do so corporately

This week Jeremy Wong will be be sharing on the Man of God! MAN OF GOD!

Somethings to think about:

Men:

how do we measure up?

where are we lacking (or should I say, where are we not lacking?)

how can we move toward this and what must be done/done away with?

how can we come alongside one another in maturing in this way?

Women:

how can you edify and push your brothers toward emulating this type of man (of God)?

how are your perceptions of what defines a man of God tweaked by the influences of whis world?

what about the woman of God?

are the defining characteristics the same or different?

Meditate and pray homiez!

Praise God for another week! Let’s all continue to lift up our prayer and praises from last weeks corp prayer time.

This weeks bible buffet, we’ll pick up where we left off before our Roger series: Colossians 2.0….Chapter one:fifteen-twenty (Hopefully we’ll make some head way past verse fifteen).

Next week we will be going through the Godly Man series, delivered by Jer Wong! yay!

1st Thurs of the month and we’re restructuring the praise/prayer night to better accommodate smallgroup time

To assist all of us in praying for one another more effectively, send me your requests/praises which we’ll raise during corporate prayer time - anything from missions/our church/nation/campus ministries/personal requests

Roger and Jennie are going to hold a Q&A session after Roger’s sermon tomorrow. This will give everyone an opportunity to get to know this pastor/missionary couple and their ministry overseas.

Send me whatever questions you may have w/regards to anything: from their college experiences, to how they met, missions, seminary, etc…

you can also ask questions during the Q&A time too

Mr. Roger Chen III

The trilogy is now complete. As many of you may have been hoping… yes the rumors are true! Roger will be here again this Thursday to deliver the Word to us one last time before he goes off to his wedding next week. Message topic pending.

Feel free to express your appreciation to him and Jennie this week for their tremendous sacrifice on behalf of this flock at the college group.
